MANILA, Philippines — A flight from Manila to Puerto Princesa was forced to return due to technical issues in its engine, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said on Thursday.
In an advisory, CAAP said it was AirAsia flight APG430, which was operating from Manila to Puerto Princesa, that experienced a technical issue with its engine on Thursday afternoon.

It was carrying 166 passengers and six flight crew members.

“At approximately 2:04 p.m., the flight deck crew reported the issue. In line with standard safety protocols, the crew opted to return to Manila as a precautionary measure,” CAAP said.
The aircraft landed back safely at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 2:14 p.m.
